Aims and scope

The aim of the Brain Tumor Research and Treatment is to publish the highest-quality papers dedicated to advancing patient care for those with central nervous system tumors and to provide valuable multidisciplinary information in the field of neuro-oncology.

The journal's scope includes collaborative investigations in basic, translational, and clinical research, covering the entire field of neuro-oncology. Specific areas addressed by the journal include, but are not limited to, molecular genetics, tumor biology, omics, immunology, neuropathology, imaging, medical neuro-oncology, radiation oncology, clinical neuro-oncology, experimental therapeutics, clinical trials, and surgical neuro-oncology.

The journal's regional scope is mainly Korea, but it welcomes submissions from researchers worldwide.

General information

Brain Tumor Research and Treatment (eISSN: 2288-2413) is the official journal of the Korean Brain Tumor Society (http://www.braintumor.or.kr/), the Korean Society for Neuro-Oncology (http://www.ksno.or.kr/), and the Korean Society for Pediatric Neuro-Oncology (http://www.kspno.or.kr/) and is peer-reviewed and open-access. The abbreviated title is thr Brain Tumor Res Treat.

Brain Tumor Research and Treatment succeeded the Journal of the Korean Brain Tumor Society (ISSN 1598-530X), which was published by the Korean Brain Tumor Society in March 30, 2002, and had 22 issues published until 2012. The Korean Society for Neuro-Oncology (KSNO) began participating in the journal publication in September 2011. The journal relaunched with the title change to Brain Tumor Research and Treatment in April 2013. The Korean Society for Pediatric Neuro-Oncology joined the journal's publication efforts in 2015.

The journal accepts manuscripts written in English only. Publication types include editorials, original articles, reviews, case reports, technical notes, and letters to the editor. The journal is published quarterly on January 31, April 30, July 31, and October 31 since 2022.
